About 6 months ago, we were on our way to a wedding consultation in Tennessee and along the way we received a call that came up as an area code in Canada! Initially Jenny and I both had the reaction that most people have and that was, ‘probably a solicitation’, but against our instincts we answered it after all, we get calls from all over the country for couples wanting to get married here in the Asheville area, so you never know right? 25 minutes later, we are pulled over on the side of the road so we don’t lose cell signal (life in the mountains lol) talking to the one of the sweetest bride’s ever, Farren! She told she had seen our work and would be getting married at the end of June 2017 and would love for us to be there to document her and her fiancé Dale’s special day! We were delighted and as we started going over specific details of her wedding day, we realized she was getting married in St. Petersburg, FL on the beach. As fate has a funny way of working things out sometimes, Farren found one of our old listings we thought had been updated to reflect our move to Asheville, NC two years ago, but for some reason it still said Tampa. Thankfully it did as we travel to Tampa yearly to see friends and family and coming down for her and Dale’s wedding day would be the ultimate icing on the cake!
We were able to officially meet Farren & Dale the night before their big day during the rehearsal and with all the action going on, it was a little touch and go but we could tell from the get go they were excited and crazy about each other! Once their wedding day arrived we met them where they were getting ready at a beautiful condo community about 30 minutes away from The Grand Plaza Resort where they would be saying their I dos. After they got ready, Dale and I set up for the first look by the lighthouse at the entrance of the community. They had previously mentioned they would like to use this spot for their first look and we couldn’t agree more, such a beautiful setting and an even better reaction :)
After getting to see each other for the first time, the smiles kept coming and you could feel the love!
The venue itself displays unique architecture, deep blue skies, and warm sandy beaches! The reception area was beautifully lit by the natural light pouring in from the surrounding windows providing a view to all the surrounding beauty! The view from the rooms wasn’t bad either!
The ceremony was simply perfect and a stark contrast from the cold weather up north where everyone present was from! That’s right, around 40 of Farren and Dale’s closest loved ones from back home made the trip across the border and all the way down to Florida to see these two tie the knot!
The reception was filled with Photo Booth fun, laughs, eloquent speeches and did we mention beer? After all, you have to stay hydrated in these warmer climates :)
For us, our favorite part of the day was getting to take Farren and Dale back out on the beach for some sunset pictures! The beaches and vibrant skies were a perfect setting to highlight the love these two share and we couldn’t have been happier to share this moment with them! The night would soon come to an end but not before a few special dances and some sparklers! Traveling to Florida is always a fun break for us! We get to see old friends, family, and our old stomping grounds. Being there on Farren & Dale’s big day made it all the more special for us and surely a trip home we will never forget!
