You’re probably thinking, “Hey those names sound familiar.” You’re right, we blogged about these cuties back in September after their beautiful Biltmore engagement (check it out here)! Ever since then, the anticipation continued to build for their special day! For us this was exciting because Mary & Kelvin’s wedding was going to be our first one of the year in 2018 and we simply couldn’t wait to spend some time with these two!
Their wedding was set in one of the more popular spaces in downtown Asheville, Pack Square. Specifically, The Century Room which is right next to the Park. With it’s modern industrial style and convenient placement, it’s no wonder this location is one of the most popular in Asheville for downtown weddings! Before we ever got to the venue though, our day started with Mary & Kelvin at The Hilton Garden Inn! The comfort of the rooms on top of being surrounded by some of their best friends and family made for plenty of laughs and time to relax before the ceremony.
As I overheard some of the groomsmen talking about the moment as it drew closer and closer, I remember one of them asking Kelvin if he thought he would cry. As most grooms do, Kelvin assured them he would be fine. When they asked about Mary, he smiled and said “oh yeah!” He knew his soon to be wife pretty well as it was an emotional ceremony but it was also a happy one filled with intimate gazes, ear to ear smiles, and definitely a few laughs!
The true highlight of the day for us was getting to spend a few minutes alone with Mary & Kelvin for their couples portraits! What you don’t get to see in these pictures are the 16 degree temperatures, but that didn’t stop Mary from rocking her beautiful dress! Especially at night when the temperatures really plummeted! (thanks for being troopers you guys!) The rest of the night was a whirlwind of dance floor action at the reception! This crew knew how to get down and I’m pretty sure if time would’ve allowed, they could’ve gone all night!
Throughout this journey will Mary & Kelvin, fun is the one word that keeps coming to mind. From their engagement to these two getting after it on the dance floor. From the first kiss, to the first kiss as a married couple. These two truly live in the moment and it rubs off when you spend any length of time with them. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to start the year and a cooler couple to spend it with!
Congrats to Mary & Kelvin and big thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors who helped make this day such an awesome experience!
