It’s feeling like spring already (at least a week ago…NC winter joke) and wedding season is already ramping up! Historically we’ve always been a little slower during March, but this year March and April are looking as busy as May which is insane! Although our first wedding of the year was in beautiful Bozeman, MT, we are so glad to be back in the south for this last stretch of winter! As I alluded to in the beginning, the weather has been exceptionally wet and warm this winter in NC, so even though I thought this amazing couple was our first wedding of the spring, according to google spring doesn’t happen for two more days. Meh, screw official dates, we’re calling Kate & William’s beautiful day at Alexander Homestead a spring wedding! The blooms were starting to pop, the light was golden, and the weather gave us the same warm and fuzzy feeling outside as Kate & William did inside. We finally got to meet Kate in person for her bridal session about a month before her wedding! Her infectious smile drew us in immediately and we made an instant connection. We found out quickly that Kate was just as funny and witty as she was beautiful! While we spent that evening sharing stories and laughing with her and her mom. We knew driving away back to Asheville that we were going to be in for a fun wedding day!
On the day of their wedding, everything was ideal! The weather, the venue, the mood, all of it! As Kate and her bridesmaids rocked some pre-ceremony photo fun around the venue, William arrived around back with his groomsmen. Having been a groom before I sensed a little bit of that excited and nervous energy from William as I grabbed him for he and Kate’s first look. As I started to talking to him about everything, you could tell he was beyond excited to marry the love of his life, he was also excited to share in that moment with family & friends. Especially one special friend, he and Kate’s fur baby Charlie! After the sweetest first look and vow private vow exchange, Mr. Charlie came to join in on the fun! Having 3 dogs of our own and one of also named Charlie, we always have a special place in our hearts for dogs on a wedding day. Let me tell you what, this little dude stole the show! Charlie rocked some pre-ceremony portraits with Kate & William and this was easily one of, if not our favorite part of the day! Of course, that epic reception party could’ve easily tied for first! This was definitely a fun one from beginning to end and one we’re stoked to have you follow along on!
