One of the interactions you have as a wedding photographer is when you meet a random stranger in any capacity being sociable and they ask the age old question, “So what do you do for a living?” Once you tell them, it’s usually met with something along the lines of “Oh that must be so cool, getting to travel and take pictures all the time!” or “I bet you get to see some crazy stuff!” and of course my personal favorite “So what does your husband/wife do?” (if they only knew lol). I won’t lie, there are some pretty amazing perks we’re blessed to enjoy on this journey! Over the years we have been afforded the opportunity to travel to some beautiful destinations, we’ve been on TV, we’ve met pro athletes and A list musicians, and made countless connections along the way! One of our favorite aspects of doing what we do is making those connections and getting to work with a family or group of friends for years to come. We’ve been doing this long enough now that we’ve developed a few of those relationships and it’s been equal parts fun and rewarding. One of our latest love stories where these connections would be ever present was for Cassidy and Michael’s wedding. We were fortunate enough to have connected with Cassidy’s sweet sister Jordan and her fiance Chris back in 2020 for their engagement and wedding. Fast forward to 2023 and we were delighted when Cassidy reached out about her and Michael’s wedding! Having met them and feeling like we knew what kind of people they were, we could not have been more excited about the opportunity to help this awesome family document more memories for the future!
Like most of our October couples, Cassidy & Michael reached our over a year ahead of time which gave us plenty of time for all things planning and engagement! Speaking of engagements, these two absolutely crushed their adventurous mountain engagement in the Blue Ridge Mountains! While there was a sense of comfort and familiarity getting to work with these two given our history with her sister, it was nice getting to know them as a couple. They share a passion and chemistry that made our process effortless and left us eager for their big day to arrive!
When their wedding finally arrived, it was a gorgeous day in early October! They held their celebration at the always popular Carolina Grove in Hillsborough, NC, just outside of Raleigh. The vibe was almost giddy when we showed up. Their families and friends were just as excited for their special day and that feeling carried throughout the day. Michael and Cassidy decided to keep things traditional and see each other for the first time down the aisle instead of a first look, and this was easily one of our favorite moments throughout the day. There were a ton of laugh out loud and tearful moments throughout their wedding day but the look in Michael’s eyes when they met Cassidy’s said it all. These little fleeting moments are the ones that last a lifetime and the ones that are impactful to not only our couples, but our lives as well. We hope you all enjoy this one as much as we did! Congrats again to Cassidy and Michael and their families and thank you guys for letting us continue to be a part of the fun!
