2021 seemingly just started and we are already rocking and rolling into the new year! Our first wedding of the year was with Hannah and Matt at their brand new venue about 5 miles from downtown Boone, NC! The Mill at Rock Creek! The beautiful 4200 square feet space is set in the mountains of Boone and includes everything you could want for your wedding with room for everyone! We were excited about what we saw from the teasers on their social media page, but getting to see it in person was awesome! As a wedding photographers, you always grow to have your favorites, but it’s still special any time we get to visit a new venue! Especially since this was going to be the first wedding at The Mill at Rock Creek! Leading up to Hannah and Matt’s big day, we had heard there may be snow in the forecast. True to the unpredictable nature of Western North Carolina weather, you really never know what to expect. As we started our drive through Asheville it was clear and mild, but by the time we arrived in Boone, the snow started falling heavy. The venue itself was covered which we were excited about as it usually makes for beautiful photos! Throughout the day it would let up and then come down heavy again. We’ve shot in heavy snow quite a few times during our careers but this was definitely the first time we've shot in what felt a lot like a blizzard. Thankfully Hannah and Matt, as well as their bridal party, were troopers! They were willing to brave the cold and though it was short lived, this crew definitely rocked it!
We hope you all enjoy following along!
